There is really no performace diff. in the Z and SS... But an SS is an SS... Go for it , SS is the only way to go in my book.

 

2001 and 2002 SSs had no no standard change in suspension unless it was ordered as a Y2Y option (additional option, not standard). So the standard SS of those years really would be mainly a appearance thing. I would look for a 2000 SS if I were you.
