Ned some help, hesitation/misfire
Ned some help, hesitation/misfire
I have a real bad hesitation when my car is under a load. At first I thought it might be a fuel problem but after I changed the fuel filter its just as bad. It ranges from 1200 up to 4-5000 rpms. If I floor it though it seems to run fine. I checked to see if any of the valve springs are broken, but all are intact. When the car hesitates the rpms jump a little and if I mash the gas it backfire and sounds damn near like a gunshot.(Uncle Buck style) The feeling is almost like when you are fishing and have a fish on the hook, if you can imagine that, thats the best way I can describe it. Any suggestions on my problem?
Things that may be wrong (so i hear)
1. Fuel Filter (That wasnt it)
2. Fuel Pump
3. Plugs and or wires (I have had bad plugs and wires and it NEVER felt like this does, plus these are no more than 6 months old)
4. Timing off (No clue how it would get "off")
5. Bad Coil Pack
6. Cracked Head (if it is I will burn the car)
Any of that seem valid to you? If so which one and if not whats your opinions? Thanks to anyone and everyone with any sort of imput. I REALLY need this car fixed. If I cant fix it, I am just going to sell it and take a big loss

Re: Ned some help, hesitation/misfire
Had a friend with something similar, his #6 plug wire was arcing slightly on his aftermarket header. We found his by starting the car in complete darkness and reving the engine - may not be your problem but it's worth a try.

Your P0300 is your problem here. When you floor it, your car runs on a pre-set ignition/fuel map (open loop). Your car has a random misfire (code P0300) and when it is at partial throttle, it is in closed loop, which is from what I understand when it is running poorly. This is a crappy, hellacious code because you don't know which cylinder(s) is/are misfiring, at least not by having AZ pull your codes. You may want to pull some plugs to start your diagnosis, it could be a very simple problem or something that's a pain in your ***. I notice you have a cam and some LT's...but no tune? How big's your cam? More info will help us help you.

I have a TR 224. Its been tuned, but poorly. They tuned it knowing I had bad o2 sensors at the time and didnt tell me. I replaced the sensors though. I replaced the plugs and wires about 4-6 months ago. Its run fine up until last Sunday.
Re: Ned some help, hesitation/misfire
Wel lI bought new plugs and wires...again. Worst case scenario if it isnt that I can use em later and already have them. Hopefully its my fix. I took it to the dealership to see what they said and all they came up with was the plugs and/or wires. I asked about o2 sensors, fuel pump, coil packs and they said that wouldnt be causing this. Most of the time though I dont trust what dealership say, its never what they tell me.
