mysterious noises. need some advice
2000 Camaro SS, bone stock. 95k miles
Ok so when i was driving home from work and i start to hear a creaking noise and a slight...SLIGHT ticking coming from the engine. but im aware of that LS1 knock people talk about so im not too worried about that, cause it was SO slight i had to pop the hood and really listen to hear it. BUT the creaking noise is waht worried me, it happened before around the time my oil was getting low, i did an oil change and it was gone. but i went and checked my oil and it is filled. When i went over the speed bumps to my apt. the noise got louder, so it could be the suspension? so i let it sit for an hour or so, turned it on...the gas gauge didnt work. so i turned it off, looked it up online, and was going to go mess with the battery and what not(after about 30min), but then when i turned the car on, everything went back to normal, no noise, and the gas gauge worked. i drove it around my apt complex for about 5 minutes, and NOTHING completely silent. Anyone know what the heck is going on with this thing?

Re: mysterious noises. need some advice
I wouldn't worry about it unless you really hear something strange. The valvetrain of these motors sound like a giant sewing machine.
It's a good idea to invest in a $35 code reader/scanner from Autozone to see if there are any pending codes or trouble history.
