My sad story...PART II

Well I raced my buddy again in his 96 t/a and this time the results were much different. The first run I went strait to the floor with it and spun like hell even though i thought my tires would have warmed up by then...he beat me by several car lengths. The second run, I rolled into it and then went to the floor with it and i walked his *** down the track. It was better than sex. We ran once more just to guarantee my bragging rights. I whipped his *** again. This has been a great day, tomorrow will be better because I will bolt on my new Magnaflow catback. Thanks guys for the input on that last thread.

agreed. with a bit of suspension and a careful throttle application, a drag radial will do WONDERS. i can vouch for that.

The 17x11 will give him a much larger selection of tires to work with, and a larger patch with which to put power down.

WRONG HE DOSE NOT NEED a 17 x 11 there is many low 10 second cars out there on a 15x8 in rim.... a 16x8 with a drag radial or a MT e-t street will make him hook like no other.....ur just wasting ur money on a 17x11 setup get ur self a nice drag radial and u will be fine

Just think he needs to learn that sometimes LESS is MORE when launching on street tires. That is all.

Re: My sad story...PART II

The 17x11 wheels with a 555r nitto are nice for the street, I like the ones I have. The et streets are nice to, but suck in the rain though if you are going to drive on them everyday, much better at the drag strip, or the street race you have to win.
Just get both run the 17x11 on the street and use the et streets for the strip, that's what I do. Having the two sets make it nice.

He dose not need to waste his money on 17x11 justr get a nice BFG drag radial or the new MT drag radial on his stock rims and he will be fine. Take the extra money and buy suspension parts

Re: My sad story...PART II

A set of 245/50/16 drag radials on his stock 16x8 rim will be more then enough traction for his stock car. I told him in his other post the reasons he lost was becaus he spun so bad. If the tires are sitting there spinning you arent going anywhere! Even sometimes when you come out of spinning your out of your power band where it wouldbe impossible to start reeling them n right away!!!! Just buy some new Nitto 555R drag radials. If your keeping your car close to stock they are the best tire to get becaus they last longer then the other better hooking drag radials that are softer and wear quicker, but thats up to you.
I would launch my car on 150 shot of nitrous with the stock converter, if i could nail itoff the line and spray at the top of 1st and hook like that with 400+hp and torque u wont have a problem on motor. Now if you ever plan on getting a converter + nitrous or something like that, then u will need something like 15x8s or 15x10 micky thompson drag radials which is a awsome d/r btw.
