My reverse lights dont work!
hello all, i just noticed that my reverse lights do not work when i put the car in reverse. All teh other lights work except for those. And i kinda need them to pass state inspection. Anyclues? I dont havee an ownersmanual so i am kinda **** out of luck on fuses or anything like that. I just bought the car a week ago. It is a 98 Camaro SS M6. Thanks for the help.
If its the fuse, just pull the fuse panel off the side of the dashboard by the drivers side door. On the underside of the panel will be a diagram telling you which fuse is what.
If you have an automatic, it could be that the reverse poisiton sensor is off or broken. To see if thats it, have someone stand behind your car while you shift from P all the way to D, and then back. See if it comes on at any other point, such as between P and R, or R and N, or in N. If thats the case, then you need to tear apart the center console and fix it. If you have an M6 or, if the lights dont come on at all, I have no other ideas.

True, both my reverse lights blew out at the same time. They were not that old either.

Well, i havent been able to check the bulbs cause it rained today and i dont want to get any watter in the assembly. But is there anything else that might be the problem? I mean both of the lights are out. Oh and i have an M6. I looked on the fuse box and it just says tail lights, and the fuse looks ok.
The switch is in the side of the tranny. There is also the CAGS thing there, so get the new switch and make sure you pull the right one. Easy job. Hardest parts will be jacking the car up and refilling the tranny with any lost fluid...
