Which muffler will give me a louder sound than a magnaflow?
Ok, last week I changed my stock muffler to a magnaflow - everything else is stock. I went with that b/c it's a straight-through muffler.
It's not loud enough though. All I want to change right now is the muffler. So which other straight-through muffler will give me a louder sound than the magnaflow.
I want a muffler that you can hear while cruising through my neighborhood. You know around 15 miles an hour. Not just when I floor it.

I'm going to see if the installer can trade me for a louder muffler since I bought the magnaflow there.

ITs not a muffler, but if you want loud, go with a cut out. Its cheap, sounds good and you can keep your magnaflow. If you dont know what a cut out is, use the Search button...youll find lots of help that way.
Edited for spelling....i'm not illiterate I swear.

I agree, keep your Magnaflow muffler and just add a cheap $35 cutout to your intermediate pipe. Trust me, people in your neighborhood and on the streets will hear you cruising at 15-20mph.
And when you get tired of the loud sound of the cutout, just cap it and run the exhaust through your Magnaflow for a much quieter/refined sound.
The only other loud muffler alternative is to swap out your Magnaflow for a Flowmaster 80 series replacement muffler. It is not a straight through design, but much more noticealbe while idling or cruising down the road(is deeper and has a much better tone than the cutout).
Lastly, you could even do the "Dynomouth" mod where you have an exhaust shop put a Dynomax bullet muffler in your intermediate pipe and run straight pipes out the back with whatever tips you choose.
All three options would accomplish what your wanting out of your LS1...
