Muffler Type

If anyone can tell me..
I wanna change the muffler alone on my TA (LS1) and was wondering which muffler gives the most hp, and which one makes a good mean sound. Also the price if anyone knows. Thanks.

www.ls1sounds.com will give you a great idea of what the various mufflers sound like. At the bottom of most of the pages you'll find a comment about the general opinion of that certain exhaust.

I have the Flowmaster on mine right now... it sounds pretty damn sweet but most people say it doesn't flow worth crap. You could always offset that by installing a cut-out for when you want to rumble around town.

I have a Magnaflow muffler on my car and it seems to flow really good. It sounds great too and you can see right through the muffler.

I have exactly what this guy said: A flowmaster for the low mellow sound and a cutout when I want the power and really want to turn heads. If I were you I'd just get the cutout (@ $100 installed ) and leave the stock exhaust on. You can also get cutouts with electric plates so you dont have to crawl under the car to uncap it. Even with the electric ones, you wont spend as much as you would replacing the muffler. Good luck!

Spintech makes a really good muffler. www.ls1speeds.com sells that one. Hooker makes a really cheap muffler and it also sounds and flows well.
