Muffler Suggestions?

I recently just got my 2001, z28 camaro, and I would like to get a new loud muffler for it. Any suggested or recommended brands out there? Im going to ask for it for Christmas.

Sorry if this is in the wrong board.

magnaflow

are you looking for just the muffler to weld to the stock exhaust or are you looking for the entire cat back?

although either way i'd suggest magnaflow...sounds killer on the ls1

If you want it agressive as hell then remove the muffler all together and install a dynomax bullet muffler on the intermediate tube. I have not even installed the bullet muffler yet, I love the sound.

Magnaflow. Many people here will agree. Sounds like a muscle car at throttle. Yet is quiet and domestic at idle. Best of both worlds.

It all depends on what sound you are looking for.If you want just a quiet roar geta magnaflow or a fowmaster. If you want to be loud get a cutout,$40+install.I have the SLP dual-dual with o/r pipes and it sounds great.I also have a cut out it sounds mean as hell uncapped.

How about no muffler? I have Borla where one side of the car doesn't go through a muffler and the other side does pass through a muffler. I wish neither went through a muffler. If I were you, I'd say screw the muff.

I have a hooker aerochamber. Everyone likes the sound of it. Its quiet at idle but put your foot down and it sounds great, none of that tiny cackle sound.

Yeah I think my boyfriend has a Hooker Aero Muffler, I know its a hooker and it had Aero in it...he told me today. Its not all that loud though..but it does kinda growl, or more of a purr actually. A lot of mustangs are louder than it though, and I wanted to kinda get the same loudness.

I'd say just get a cutout. I have an eletric one but is almost always open. Guess I didn't know it would sound that good before I bought it. Wait on an electric cutout to see if you really need one first.
