MSD blaster

what have you guys heard about those MSD blaster coil packs for the LS1s?

good upgrade even though it may be a bit expensive?

I heard they were going for around 85 a piece

Re: MSD blaster

stock coil packs are regularly supporting 500+ hp...

don't see much reason to upgrade...particularly for $700

Re: MSD blaster

heard from who??

maybe if you are running something like a nasty 408 or 427 stroker with a huge cam.

but one coil per cylinder provides more than enough spark for most applications.

upgraded coils on single-coil systems can yield good gains...like the LT1...but there can't be much to gain over the stock LSx setup

Re: MSD blaster

consider them a bling mod and a bling mod only - you'd need a damn impressive setup to make them a worthwhile performance mod - and FYI you can get them for well under $500 at some places

Re: MSD blaster

The ingnition system on LS1's is one of the few systems done right. Unless you have constant multiple missfires and can't trace it down, then you might try a couple of them, otherwise leave well enough alone.
