Mods: Need Advice

Ok here is a list of mods I would like to do to my 02 SS M6:

1. Pacesetter Quick Trip Painted LT Headers
2. Off-Road Y-Pipe
3. Stock Cat-Back, But replaced stock muffler with 40 series Flowmaster
4. SLP Lid with K&N Filter
5. Smooth Bellow
6. 85mm Mass Air Flow Sensor
7. 85mm TB
8. LS6 Intake
9. Predator Programmer
10. 3.73 Gears

These are the mods I would like to do, I would just like some advice on which names to go with, if the names I mentioned are good, and if you think these mods are worth the money? Also what type of quarter mile times should I see..Thanks Guys

Re: Mods: Need Advice

1. Pacesetter Quick Trip Painted LT Headers
I personally preffer coated to painted

2. Off-Road Y-Pipe
Buy the one offered by the company that you get your headers from

3. Stock Cat-Back, But replaced stock muffler with 40 series Flowmaster
Other than saving a couple of pounds and sound a Flowmaster will get you nothing performance wise over the stock muffler

4. SLP Lid with K&N Filter
Some people have had fitmant issues with the SLP - but then some people have had fitment isssues with just about every lid. Permanent filter ... no performance, only if you see the value in not having to buy a filter every 6 months.

5. Smooth Bellow
An appearence mod

6. 85mm Mass Air Flow Sensor
Good mod to lose HP ... I tried it, the Pace, the GMAF and ported ends lost power with every one of them.

7. 85mm TB
The intake is 75mm so getting a 85mm TB will do you no good. Port your stock TB or buy one already ported.

8. LS6 Intake
It's stock on your '02

9. Predator Programmer
meh ... on a bolt on M6, maybe a few ponies. Wait until you do H/C and get a custom tune.

10. 3.73 Gears
Go to 4:10 ... the difference between 3:42 and 3:73 isn't worth the effort

Save your money from that stuff and go with a supercharger.

Re: Mods: Need Advice

for your exhaust i would suggest buying some 3" tube, running it from your offroad pipe back to a 3" cutout right before the axle. then run your stock exhaust from there back.

great flow when you open the cutout, and good quiet exhaust for cruising.

basically everthing else i agree with v6toZ28
