Mods on a College Budget
Mods on a College Budget
Well, Im on a college budget now and just bought a 98 Z28 M6, fully loaded for $10,000. I have some money still saved up to do some mods, I already bought a Pro-5.0 since I tend to shift a lot. With about $400 to work with Im looking at exhaust, either an SLP Loudmouth (might be too loud) or a 50 series Flowmaster off my friend's 96 V-6 that was totaled in a head on for about $120 installed. The local guy quoted me $470 for a Magnaflow catback installed but it was still out of my price range
. So if I get the muffler what else can I do ( daily driver). Doing the home made !CAGS and will get an airlid eventually. Thanks guys, I know you get this a lot.

Have you considered an electric cutout rather than a new cat-back? Many say that the Flowmaster doesn't flow as well as other cat-backs, so you may want to do some searching.
As you pointed out, the lid is next. To stay under $400, you might add the cold air intake from SLP or Fast Toys to complement the lid.
Electric Cutout ~ $170
Lid ~ $95
Cold Air ~ $129
There's $400.

b) are you including the price of the actual cutout plus the electric valve?
I was pricing the QTEC (generally regarded as superior) plus a Flowtech cutout.
