Hi Guys,
what is the cheapest way to add 20-40 HP ?

do you want more power or a faster car? not one in the same.. .

generally, to answer your question, lid, and exhaust will net you somewhere around there...

but for a faster car, do suspension and tires...

What's he's trying to tell you is that say
someone said bring us your car and we'll
install a twin turbo, NOS, Stoker or whatever
and afterwards all you do is spin your tires
because you can't get traction...

are you faster?

So back to you original post,
get a lid and a cat back. You'll see
20 rwhp. More if you get a cold air kit
but I wouldn't suggest on a daily driver.

Get the horsepower, but get the traction for it too.

I think that what he is looking for is horsepower for street driving, for which I'd say that a lid, catback, and the free mods (throttle body, T/B bypass, etc.) are the best thing.
