Mistake?
Mistake?
Ok, I bought a Air lid titled 98-02. I start to put it on and see that there is a grey hose that wont connect to anything. I am now thinking that I bought a 01-02 lid. Any way to make this work?
What is that tube that goes to the lid anyhow? I've got a SLP lid and I have the tube connected to my lid.
Is it part of the emissions system, pumping air out of the box and out the exhaust to make the exhaust cleaner?
Or is it recycling exhaust back into the intake?
What is it, and will there be any performance gains putting a little air filter on the end of the tube instead of having it hooked to my lid?

That grey tube is connected to some emission crap. It sucks air out of the lid and puts it through the system probably doing something to the affect of lowering exhaust emissions like you said. It doesnt suck all the time either. i noticed mine only does it when i start it up in the morning and the car is in warm up mode
Hey guys, the hose goes to the electric AIR pump. It pumps outside air into the exhaust to add oxygen to the exhaust to allow the cats to do their job better. It comes on and off when the computer tells it to. No gain with hose on the air cleaner or a filter on the hose.
The '01-02's had it to the air cleaner. Later>>>>>>>
