Missed the shift need some help
Does the car have a stock rev limiter just for the sake of asking?? And does anyone see a problem? I was on an open road by myself and I decided I was just gonna give her a little, so I did just that and I am still unsure of what the hell I was doing but somehow I managed to go from 3rd to 2nd, I didn't look at the tach at all cuz I was to concerned with relesing the clutch. I am pretty sure the car didn't go above 6 grand. Wouldn't the rev limiter stop anything above that? The car is just the same as it always was, wouldn't you be able to hear if there was a problem?? And I got extended warrenty on the car, if there was a serious problem wouldn't warrenty cover that as the case of a driver being stupid on a shift?? Thanks
well, i know in a lot of casses, when ppl shift from third to second at high rpm's, they end up bending their pushrods.... you'd notice a difference in the way she sounds if you bent a pushrod.
and i dunno about your warrenty... someone else'll answer that for you soon

It'd help more if you gave more info. You could have seriously damaged your car, just bent a pushrod or two, or you could be fine. There is a stock rev limiter of 6200 on the cars, but it won't stop anything when shifting from 3rd back into 2nd.
What RPM were you at when you shifted back into 2nd? This will be the determining factor.
If the car didn't go past 6000 like you said, than you've got nothing to worry about.
If you do hear a clicking/tapping sound, the engine runs real rough at less than 2k rpms, then you've bent a pushrod and possible a valve too.

That is a really scary thing to have happen, at least it was the three times it happened to me...my friend did it first, then happened to me twice several weeks later. Went out and got the Pro 5.0, cleared that problem right up
