Maximum rpm for oem lifters

Maximum rpm for oem lifters

Will stock ls1 lifters(40k) handle 6500rpms?

Apparently! ... I've spun mine up there a couple of times . AFAIK, it's the springs/push-rods that are the "weakest links" in the valvetrain .

^ Yep.. You'll risk bent pushrods revving about 6500.. One thing to wonder too is "lifter pump up" under a high RPM situation. I've been asking about this for months on a couple boards. LS7 lifters specifically.

They'll handle 6800 with no problem. I used OEM replacements on my heads/cam motor.

For a more serious buildup, I'd recommend the Morel lifters when you're spinning 7000+.
