Max RPMs with heads/cam??

I have an 02 SS and will be putting a FM13 or 14 cam in it along with Trick Flow heads. My question is what is the safe limit of rpms for the stock bottom end with this set up? Thanks

With an 02 you should be good to the limits of the cam.

FMS cam- shoot for 6800

duals springs in your trick flows with .040 Cometic gasket, and some hardened push rods

Even with the better factory rod bolts, anything over 7000RPM and you're on borrowed time. ARP rod bolts should allow 7500. But what's the point of revving that high if you don't have the intake to support it?

I will also be putting a fast 90/90 intake on it. H/C/I and all supporting mods...oil pump, timing chain, pushrods, etc...thanks for replies! i didnt figure the stock bottom end would allow 7000+ rpm, thats great. anybody know of anything i'm missing? also what size injectors would you recommend?

I would recommend hardened pushrods and good rocker arms if you are going over 6500 very often.

The F13 makes peak around 6000 rpm and the F14 about the same or slightly higher. A 6500 shift and 6800 redline will be fine.

For your application that you listed, Ford's SVO 30# injectors (aka red tops) work great and are cheap and reliable. They are closer to a 36# in an LS1 application though. If you can find the 42# for the same price, go with them instead - room to grow

Yep. SVO 30# are fine for that application. I made 471rwhp with the heads/cam C5 with SVO 30#s and had plenty of duty cycle left.
