Mass Airflow Meter Question
Mass Airflow Meter Question
A couple questions. So far, I have only found two aftermarket MAF for the LS1, the SLP and the Granatelli. I'm wondering why the SLP costs almost half as much as the Grantelli.
The secon question is, is a MAF a simple bolt on? Or does it require tuning and computer work or a seperate unit? Will it affect gas milage or emmisions or anything like that?

Granatelli likes to charge more... and they also claim a better HP gain. The MAF sensor is a simple bolt on that will take less than 30 minutes to install. It will take a little while for the ECM to learn the program of the aftermarket MAF. It wont affect emissions and comes with a carb sticker.

I just put in an SLP maf today I got off of ebay. It is throwing an SES light after about 10 minutes of driving. The screen is removed. Anyone know if this is normal or if it's because the screen is removed? I am sure that everything is airtight. Seems to breathe better though!
