The 317 is an LS6 port design with the 72 cc chambers as turd already posted. You would be far safer using those heads on a stock bottom end, but there are a few things (primarily rod bolts) I would look at changing if I were to go that route. You can pick up a good budget shortblock with forged rods, pistons, and ARP hardware for right around $3000, if you want it to last that would be the way to go.
Know the part number or casting number for those 317 heads? We are going to try this with a stock shortblock.

Rich,

I will have to look in the shop what that PN is, but the 317 casting is found on all the Iron block 6.0L motors (LQ4 and LQ9)

With just a valve job you can pick up about 30cfm on the intakes and that's a cheap upgrade on a forced induction motor. Just had a set leave the shop for a STS Turbo 408 that's going in a truck.

The CNC ported LS6 heads are ok pieces, ports are huge and can easily be woken up with the correct valve job. They are around 305cfm out of the box from GM and that can be taken up to around 320cfm. They really scream for a larger valve and with that they can move more wind. Either way for the money you can get a better head.
