Make sure to keep your MAF clean!!

My '99 Z28 has had a what felt like a miss in it and just sometimes felt like it was just running flat since I got it. I was of course thinking the worse, like a complete tune up including coil pack would be needed to fix it. I went the other night and got me a can of MAF cleaner and took the MAF off. The wires inside of it looked like they were completely black. I sprayed them off and cleaned them with a q-tip and put it back in. The miss is now gone and the car runs like a compeletly different car, I really couldn't believe that's all that was wrong with it.

Yeah it's still running great. I really still can't believe that's all it was making the car run that bad.

Yeah one simple sensor can make the whole car run like crap, when my coolant temp sensor went out the car sounded like it was running on 6 cylinders I did a pointless tune up including o2's and it still ran bad then AL told me to check the temp sensor and it turned out to be the problem the whole time

Wow. I've never heard of the temp sensor causing that much of a problem.

If it malfunctions the PCM will think it's -50 degrees outside (not sure on exact temp) and it'll start dumping fuel, it won't idle and it's almost impossible to keep running. Sad part is that it won't always throw a code so it'll just keep you guessing on other things.
