magnaflow exhaust

i'm thinking about buying a magnaflow exhaust for my 99 z28. my question is... how does the cat-back system fit? do all of the hangers line up? i put a slp on my 95 and it fit good. also is 420$ a good price? where is the best place to buy?

Re: magnaflow exhaust

everything should line up. they are a good company.

$420 shipped is good...

they use to sell brand new on Ebay for $385 i think

do some searching.

maybe watch the sponsor list for an exhaust sale...they do them regularly

Re: magnaflow exhaust

Im running the magnaflow on mine. I really like, and it fit perfect. Thats not a bad price I will have to look at my receipt but I think I paid 350-380.

Re: magnaflow exhaust

I have the Magnaflow catback on my '98. I like it! I had mine installed when I purchased it. But everthing appears to fit just fine. $420 sounds in the ball park. It has been several years and I don't remember the exact price.

Sounds awesome too.

Re: magnaflow exhaust

2.5" for the v6... 3" for the ls1. i wouldnt be replacing the flowmaster exhaust on my car if it was 3". the previous owner bought a muffler and had an exhaust shop bend up an exhaust system. its 2.5" pipes. from what i hear magnaflow is good quality and nice sounding exhaust. the slp loudmouth on my lt1 was a little bit too loud.

Re: magnaflow exhaust

I have the Magnaflow catback on my 99 T/A and I love it, it has a very nice tone and doesnt have the drone of the Loudmouth, on my 94 LT1. I highly recommend it.

Re: magnaflow exhaust

I have a 3" LT1 Magnaflow on my bird. Looking at swapping up to a 00Z28 that has a Flowmaster. How much fabrication would it take to fit the Magnaflow on the Z?

Re: magnaflow exhaust

as far as i know the pipes will mate up without any fabrication.

i think the rear hanger is different on the LS1 though...not that hard to fix.

I should have noted. My Magnaflow is for a single cat LT1, being on a v6. LS1's are all dual cat, correct? Does it just mate up after the S-pipe from the LT1 setup?

Re: magnaflow exhaust

Yeah, nice sounding exhaust system. I really like it. Good "bang for the buck", too.

Oh, it does fit nicely. There wasn't any issues when installing the system.
