Re: Magnaflow catback

Don't you have it on your car already? Seems like a little too late to start asking opinions on it if its already on the car. The only opinion that should really matter though is your own. That being said, I personally don't care for it all that much. Not loud enough. Doesn't do the car justice...but that is just MY opinion.

Re: Magnaflow catback

I love my Magnaflow, true, it isn't as loud as the others, but loud enough for my test. Some people love the loudmouth, I think it's a little too loud, and the the tone is a little too unrefined for me. Magnaflow is loud enough that I had a cop ask me to keep it down when revving by some people at my college, but at highways speeds its pretty quiet. Also I like the fact that they really worked on the tone. Everyone tells me it looks awesome, and I have to agree. But like the previous post said, its your opiinion that matters most, and whether its a loudmouth system or magnaflow, get what is going to make you happy.

my father bought it for me for christmas and I was more than happy i havent installed it yet but i plan to do it tomorrow. I was just wondering what everyone else thought. i have yet to hear it yet. And most importantly what about those horsepower gains.

i think the sound is great. it's got a nice refined tone when you are running it hard, yet a nice mellow tone when cruising on the hiway.

as for HP gains, very good. it is one of the highest flowing catbacks. about 2/3rds of the exhaust is directed out the passenger pipe without even going into the muffler chamber. so it flows well.

Re: Magnaflow catback

Best way to describe magnaflow is "mellow." It's not loud, not quiet. Just right... And shiny too!

LOL the only thing my parents ever got me as a gift for my car was some nice new floormats ( I had to give part #'s) and they surprised me with a custom car cover (which I love, even though my car is garaged). they'd never delve into the performance parts gift idea, they know that's MY area.

Oh, and once I loaned my car to my dad for a few days because his was broken down. He dropped it off at my house with 4 new tires. He said "well, I felt bad about the mileage, so I thought I'd give you an oil change. The mechanic said your tires were bald and showing steel bands, so I threw the tires on there for you. Don't tell your mother." They weren't top of the line tires, but I wasn't complaining. At least they were z rated. Needless to say this was before I modded it. Now NO ONE touches my keys but me.

Re: Magnaflow catback

I have one, I first heard it when I only had a lid and the cat back it's self. It was pretty mellow like stated above. Then I bought a ORY-pipe and deleted the cats. After that it sounded considerably louder. Inside and out. I think it would get louder with some long tubes and no cats. Anyways, I like the way it sounds and I get nothing but complements from my friends on how it sounds aswell. It sounds different inside the car vs. outside to. I heard my car drive away when I let a friend borrow it to go to the part store and I thought it was a different car starting up and driving away! I looked and nope, it was mine. Sounds even better from the out side!

You'll be happy with it. If it's your first mod and you still have cats it only gets better. If you need louder weld up a cut out and have extreamly loud exhuast notes when you want it then cap it when you want to be able to have a nice tuned sounding exauhst and carry a conversation inside the car.

I'm not big on the tips, but the ones I've heard sound nice. I agree that mellow is a good description. From what I've seen they flow well too.
