Magnaflow is awesome!

Well I finally got my Magnaflow muffler for my 98 Camaro . And yes I got the 3 inch inlet insted of the 2 and 1/2. For a lil more sound. I decided to go with some 3 inch slash tips out the back. And the sound is freakin awesome. The way a Camaro should sound like. At idle, it's not too loud but definitely noticable. Even inside at idle . It's noticable but not droney at any rpms. As I'm cruising the exhaust has a nice medium loudness and deep tone to it. When you get on it. That's when the true muscle car sound comes out. Not ungodly loud but fairly loud. And I just love it. As soon as I get some sound files. I'll post them or send them to the powers to be to post them. The only thing a little negative I have about the experience was the way my exhaust guy was giving me flack about installing the muffler. Basically he didn't know why I wanted to replace the stock muffler. And I said for more power and sound. He told me I wouldn't get any more power. It didn't matter if I went with headers, new 3 inch pipe and muffler. Because my power was all controlled by the computer anyway. And I though to myself "What and old dumbass". Why is it these old country *** hick exhaust guys think that? When it's confirmed that all these boltons do give you more horsepower? Anyways as I was leaving and got out on the road. I left him 2 nice tire burns down the road and a good old smokey burnout. So much for not more power. Even tho it's just a muffler change. The car definitely has more pickup and go. With roughly the same temp and humidity . My car was just barely getting a chirp shifting into second gear(my car is an automatic). And now my car is barking hard into second. Now in the morning I'm installing my slp lid with filter. When my buddy gets it here. Paying only $100 lid with filter and it pretty much looks brand new. Only been used a month before my buddy decided to go ahead with a supercharger. Does 20 horses sound about right with the lid, muffler, stock 2 and 3/4 intermediate and free air mod ? I highly highly recommend this exhaust. You can't get much better in the sound department IMO.

Congrats on the new set up. I have magnaflow as well and it is noticable. That guy was talking out of his @ss. He avoided to tell you about how throttle response and flow would be improved with those bolt ons. I like it cuz it is noticable but yet not really loud. When I really want loud and little more flow for the track I just uncap my cutout.

Nice car. By the way my car is red too. And you like Kicker like me. I'm only sporting one Kicker comp 12 ported in a box with a Kicker 02KX700.5 5 Channel Car Amplifier. It slams for one ported 12.

Only 600 watts to the sub but it's plenty for me. I will have pics soon. Will take them once my car gets out of the shop after next week. I'm getting it repainted since it received some hail damage a month or so ago.

sorry to hear about the hail damage. There was a small tornado with hail here last week. Luckily I didn't get any severe damage only a light scratch by some branch or something. I also need to put up new pics up soon. I just waxed it and installed a gm ss hood and I also installed my fuel rail covers.

SpidermanForever-

What muffler did you get for your car? I'm debating between a Magnaflow and a Dynomouth, but I've heard better things about the Mangaflow. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay to have it installed and did you have to buy any piping?

I want to get a muffler a chrome dual-dual tips.

Hiya, just got my camaro and its all stock so the exhaust is gonna be the first to go... the stock exhaust on my camaro sounds so tame, so civilized I see you guys like the sound of Magnaflow and Dynomouth... I was thinking of getting a Hooker Catback system... how do you think that compares to Magnaflow and Dynomouth? Hooker is cheep and the tips can be changed easily.

IMO the Hooker doesn't quite sound as good as the Magnaflow system.

I agree with all of ya'll about the magnaflow i have heard only good things about it. I plan on getting a magnaflow muffler sometime in the near future. By the way do u still have your cats or no? I heard it is quiet normal driving but at WOT it sounds really good. I know this is the one i am going with.

That's not bad.

What's the exact muffler you got on Magnaflow's website?

There's like 10 different kinds of mufflers.
