I got the borla and mac combo and love it.

The gain in performance is really noticable and the sound is great. Its loud as hell and sounds like a raspy drag car....lol...but if your more reserved it might not be the best combo....lol

The MACs will do just fine if you're not pumping out massive amounts of HP. They aren't true long tube headers, but they WILL get the job done. They aren't neccessarily better than any other header, but you just can't beat the bang for the buck factor.

i have always heard to put your own cats on the mac's, they are supposedly pretty crappy.

Don't mean to steal the thread but as for WS6scott, love the bird, but what kind of offset and backspacing you got on those fiskes. Looking into getting some custom 18x10's made for all 4 corners, and i need to know some specs, that looks perfect. Kinda want to make the back wheels well more than the front b/c of the whole hour glass body design thing.

Thanks for the good words bro..

as far as the offset on the wheels...

There just the standard f-body offset i think? I just ordered them for my car in 17x9.5 all around cause I had the car on 18's and they rubbed like hell with the drop i have. I measured the width before the tires went on and it was just over 10 inches from inner lip to inner lip. Im not sure if Fikse just runs big or if it was a mistake or what ? But I have no problems with them now...havent rubbed once.

My buddy Joe has a set of 18x 10's on his Camaro and he has slight rubbing when turning. I think he has 295's all around which im sure is the reson for it...lol

good luck.

Was going to run some 295's all the way around. Love 1/4 mile performance but it's and even better rush hitting the curves on those lovely flat farm roads. I have always heard they rub, but sometimes in life there are just prices you have to pay

Real Dual Exhaust

Have any of you thought about doing away with that power and torque robbing "Y" pipe exhaust system and installing a real dual exhaust system on your car? You get a lot more performance. I have a cat back real dual exhaust on my SS with both pipes exiting out the rear of the car from beneath the bumper just like the regular stock pipes and it is quiet inside the car with no drone. Those that exit out under the car before the axle doesn't come close to my exhaust system. I can ride down the road and talk to my friend in the seat beside me or listen to the radio, because as I stated earlier, it is quiet inside my car. Now, outside is another story. I have a sound that no "Y" pipe exhaust system can touch. The sound that only a real dual exhaust system can deliver. I will never, NEVER use a "Y" pipes exhaust system on anything ever again. I'll go with a real dual exhaust system every time. I don't have headers on my car, but with the dual exhaust system that I have I could install headers.

always heard it sounds good, but hp wise not to different unless you are running a blower or heads/cam. If you think about it, if you have equal length headers it doesn't realy matter, pulses will go in order of fireing. It's better for top end, but y-pipes seem to have a better torque curve. Guess if it was so good GM would have designed it that way.

If you have $1300 to throw away, try SLP TTS or FLP longtubes.
