Question M6 Technical Service Bulletin?

In a earlier thread, a member made reference to a Technical Serivce Bulletin issued about bad syncros in the M6 Tranny. Does anyone know where this TSB may be, and where I can find it. I surfed the internet thismorning, but to no avail. My local dealership keeps getting rid of me when I take the car in for service, and I would really like to have a copy this TSB so I can use it for leverage. Thanks ahead of time!

I skimmed for a '01 M6 bulletin, but did not see one.

Perhaps I missed it.

Good Luck !

Start with www.alldata.com/recalls/index.html to get the TSB#/title then try a web search.

I had the same problem and it just got worse in worse to the point where it would spit it out of third gear 97% of the time. I have an 2001 and i guess that link is only talking about the 99-00 models. I just got my car serviced and it seemed to be fixed but it still spits it out at low RPMs. Lets say if skip shift is activated and i decide to go to 3rd instead of 4th, there is a pretty good chance ill get rejected from 3rd gear. 4th gear can take the below idle RPMs when skip shift is activated but 3rd cant eventhough the RPM would be higher in 3rd. I guess im going to have to go back to get it fixed again and this will be my 3rd time. I was wondering if someone else had this problem and if anyone knew what exactly is causing this. The link above seemed to describe my problem pertty accuratley so i think imma print it out before i go to the dealership next time.

thanks

with a tsb, lets say my car is not under warrany anymore, but this problem happens. now since they made the tsb and know about it, would i still have to pay for their mistake?

If you took it in for service before the warranty expired for the same problem and they could not diagnose/fix it, you might be able to get them to cover it. However, a TSB is just a quick way for common problems to be diagnosed at the dealership. It doesn't mean that every (or even most) cars will have the problem. It's not a recall. So if you first complain about the problem after the warranty has expired you'll get no "freebie service coupon" by wavnig a TSB at them.

I'd make that a 100% chance.
Keep in mind that "skip shift" blocks 2nd and 3rd when activated not just second. I forces you to shift from 1st to 4th.
Put a module or a resistor in and get rid of that stupid skip shift.
