LT's .. Running Rich?

I'm on the verge of purchasing some Jet-Hot LT's and Ypipe .. Have a question though .. I hear many LS1's run rich after a long tube install .. Are there any mods that can counter this without a tune? i.e. 85mm MAF? Ported TB?... to get it running leaner and closer to stock A/F ratios

A MAFT will help you lean out your A/F ratio.

My car was running lean before the header install, and after the install I guess that they cancelled each other out...

I just instaled hooker LT's and a 3" y on my 98 Z. I have a ported throttle body, granatelli mass air, slp lid and Im still blowing out black smoke to the rear pipes. most people ive talked to say- get it tuned almost another 20- 25 hp to the rerar wheels with the exhaust mod. Im not sure but im about to get mine tuned

wait till you get a cam to get it tuned. Headers will make the leanest running cars run somewhat rich.

Yea.. you should definitely wait until you get your cam in to get a tune.. Why pay for it twice. Alot of these cars run rich after the headers and people constantly drive them.

But my cam install will be done next week , and then I'll get the Dyno Tune at BSM..

I have LTs on my Z, and I have no problems with running rich.

That tune isnt that expensive, and it will turn off your SES light after the header install.
