Lt1-to LS1 swap
Lt1-to LS1 swap
i gota 95 TA n i was goin up to the lake when i saw this recked 99 ta LS1 owner says it will still turn over but wnt start im in the process of buying it. I know it is more work than i think im just woundering about the wireing harness does any 1 make a conversion harness? also are theengine mounts diferent? Im just trying to through together a parts list. any ideas? thanks Evan
You will need to old harness. Get a BMR K-member and the motor will slide right in. You may need a trans crossmember too. I don;t know about the gauges. Maybe the ls1 gauge pod would work then you would just have to splice it in.

With the pricing of the LS1 cars now, I would just buy one of those, LOL.
I hate wiring so the whole thing was a PITA for me, and come to find out the swap information I had was not totally accurate OR my wiring harness from the LS1 is different that what I am reading over on LS1tech.
I can add more details later.....

You will need a LS1 K-member (stock or tubular), LS1 steering rack&pinion along with steering shaft. LS1 headers. LS1 specific throttle cable.
You will still use the LT1 x-member but you may have to modify them slightly.
You have some option on fuel delivery, consensus is that the stock LT1 pump is not enough, I did a walbro 255 intank and using the vette reg/filter and retained the stock fuel lines (feed and return) and ran a rubber line from there to the fuel rails.
Wiring for me was a PITA b/c I wanted to use the stock 97 gage cluster, but just to get the car going was easy, it was the little stuff getting it all to work was the pain, and I still cleaning up small little issues.
