Also, be carefule becasue the top of your heads will be open to outside debri's and it wouldnt take much to damage the engine if any objects fall inside the top of the heads.

Either buy a 12 bolt/9 inch, or save up for one. You WILL break it with a 6 speed, it's just a matter of time. Not if or where, but when. My friend has a 94 Z28 car, he's broken his twice on the street with just street tires
If you don't feel like doing that now, maybe work on your clutch setup. The stock ones suck, that's the biggest reason I went from M6 to A3. Get a nice strong clutch, an adjustable master, a 2001+ or aftermarket slave, a STRONG throwout bearing, and do the drill mod. That'll make a great improvment over stock, shifting will feel much better, and it'll be one less thing to worry about down the road, especially when you start launching on slicks

Re: LS6 intake vs. 4.10's
I was faced with this decision a couple months ago, I chose the LS6 intake manifold. Very simple install, and a definite seat of the pants gain. I got about a tenth and a half in the 1/8th, and another mile per hour as well crossing the traps. I bet the gain would be a bit more if it weren't so frigging hot here!
Either way really you can't go wrong, both will be fun.

Re: LS6 intake vs. 4.10's
I would do the ls6 intake for the simple fact that I don't trust the stock rears on these cars, and if you drive with any performance intentions 4:10's are likely to chew it up, especially with the m6. The gears will definelty be much more of a performance increase though, I just don't know if I would trust the stock 10 bolt with them, because I have talked to to many people who have had bad experiences with them, even on street cars that never see the track.
