Ls6 intake noise
I used to have a 00 Z with an Ls1 stock intake, sounded quite and dont remeber it making a sound at all.I since then have swapped my old camaro's motor into my current vehicle a 01 formula.I installed a used Ls6 intake on it.It runs fine but man does it sound diffrent. It makes this little sump, sump, sump, noise.Sounds like a sucking noise I think. Can you guys tell me if this is normal?I heard my buddies non Ls6 intake sound quiter, what do you think?
Again little noise that goes
sump, sump, sump, sump, and on till you turn the car off.

I just installed the LS6 intake on my 98 M6 and it did change the way the car sounded. I dont however have in abnormal sounds like you are desribing. I would probably check to see if is sealed or if you left one of the vacuem lines loose.
Every thing is pluged in right.Doubled checked all the vacumm hoses too.Know I also have another question should I have replaced the intake gaskets?I didn't.I mean the car runs and works.Just a little noisier.

Anytime you are changing a part that requires a gasket, always replace it with a new one.
Especially on things like Heads, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, etc......
That might be the cause of that sound.

The gaskets are rubber and also the intake bolt torque spec is very low. I have re-used ls-6 intake gaskets couple of times without problems. If the idle is stable and normal rpm I bet the sound you're hearing is injector noise.
No its not the injectors. Its the intake making some sucking noise..My buddy told also told me if the idle is fine and it doesn't stumble when the car is started dont mess with it.It runs fine its just that I dont know if this is a normal sound.Maybe I can get a recording of it and posted up.
