Only real differences are:
the 00 has a bigger cam, smaller injectors, probably 843 heads, and EGR.
01 has smaller cam, bigger injectors, 241 heads, LS6 intake, possibly an LS6 block, and no EGR.

If you are not going to mod the motor and can afford either car, get the 01.

There are NO strength/hp advantages with the LS6 block over the LS1 block.

Everything else that needs to be said has been said.

I'd go for the '01, especially if it's a stick. The clutch upgrade is worth it all by itself, and the intake manifold is nice too.

If you keep it stock then you obviously don't care about being faster than the next guy so what would it matter? If you bracket race it wouldn't matter either.
