You won't see any gains from descreening, so why mess with it? You also have to realize that the non-screened MAFS are probably calibrated for that.

I wouldn't mess with an electric pump either. I seriously doubt it would last long under daily driving conditions and then the gains would be minimal as stated before.

If i do get a LS6 intake, can i use my 75mm TB? or do you have to use the 80mm TB. Also the MAF 75mm or 80mm? Thanks for all the help.

Re: LS6 intake

I'd never take the screen off the MAF. When i picked up my car, the bracket around the stock air filter was warped or something, and air was blowing by the filter. I pulled a bunch of sticks and leaves and other lovely crap off the MAF screen.

the LS6 intake was designed for the same TB as the standard LS1 intake...so it's fine.

stock maf is 75mm

Youll want a cat back of some form and headers as far as cats are concearned it depends on wether or not you can get away with no cats in your area. Headers and true duals would be your best route performance wise but what you can afford comes into play....

You may be in luck. Alot of states that have emmisions testing for OBDII cars they just plug a scanner into the diagnostic port and check for codes. If you run a off road Y pipe and you add the O2 sims the cpu wont throw any codes. The only way you could fail is if they put the car on a lift and see theres no cats.
I have a few friends that used to work at garages that did inspections and they told me.If a car had wheels that you could see the rotors good(to check brakes) they dont bother putting the car on the lift then they just scan it for codes and check the lights and your good to go.
I would'nt bring it to a Gm dealer or anything like that (places like that go through your car completely hoping to find somthing wrong so you can pay them to fix it) but find a smaller garage that does inspections.
