Re: LS6 intake

Don't forget you will have to remove the AIR & EGR with a stock vette LS6 intake.

Anyone on tuning without a EGR valve?

Removing the AIR is not a big deal.

Re: LS6 intake

LS6 intakes were stock on 01 up LS1s. It doesn't have to be from a Vette.

Re: LS6 intake

What if I buy 1 from SLP or the like. Will I need to remove-add anything, or will they supply that? I think for performance mods, that will be the next.

The SLP LS6 intake includes EGR provisions.

I have done tuning without an EGR. With LS1 Edit you just go in and find all the codes that have to do with the EGR system, and delete them.

Re: LS6 intake

AIR doesn't need to be removed for the LS6 intake, if you get the SLP version neither does the EGR.

www.paceparts.com sells the coolant tubes for like $40 or something

Re: LS6 intake

EGR and A.I.R. don't need to be removed, but everything sure as hell looks a lot better without it.

Re: LS6 intake

I put an LS6 on my 2000 SS. All I did was drill out a hole in the intake and screwed a pipe fitting into it and a female end onto the hacked off EGR. Works fine...2 years now....

Re: LS6 intake

LOL do yourself a favor and just ditch the EGR/AIR. Cleans up the engine bay and runs exactly the same.

Re: LS6 intake

LOL, If it was as easy as ditching the egr and air I would, but I have emissions to deal with every 2 years. I've been down that road a few to many times and I dont want to go again.
I sold my corvette to a buddy and now I'm trying to help him get it smogged cuz the place I took it to before is no longer in biz

Re: LS6 intake

I deal with emissions EVERY year which is why I did what I did. Took me all but a half hour and is not much different from what SLP does. Actually, go to a hardware store and by the brass garden hose repair kit. You drill the hole slightly smaller than the fitting so it threads in nice and tight. Thats really all...
