Re: LS2 vs LS6

The LS2 will have more cubic inches and a better intake system utilizing the 90mm throttle body, along with LS-6 production heads. Stock for stock, the LS2 will be superior, but once one adds things like the 90mm FAST intake, more cubes, and other minor mods to the LS-6, I don't think the LS2 will be all that superior.

Re: LS2 vs LS6

it has more cubes and a higher CR.

itll most likely respond better to boltons and internals modifications.

they both dyno similarly.

Re: LS2 vs LS6

Well, of course, I know it's 366 cubes to 346. I was wondering mainly about internals though.

Just because they have near the same hp rating doesn't mean they dyno the same. The dyno curves mean a lot more than peak hp.

Re: LS2 vs LS6

I was thinking that their dyno graphs were very close too.

Re: LS2 vs LS6

There is a graph that compare the LS6 to LS2. The LS2 showed better area under the curve until 6K RPM where the LS6 pull 5 more HP. I would take the LS2 motor over a LS6 any day.

Re: LS2 vs LS6

I know the '01 ls-6 engine had quite a few problems with bad rings, and a few bearing issues... LOL

Re: LS2 vs LS6

From what I have heard, the LS2 has more on the low end than the LS6, and even though peak hp is basically the same, the C6 should be able to post better times than the C5 Z06. More cubes and more playing around with the valvetrain and heads is what did it, I guess.

I'll wait to sell my soul for the C6 Z06, though.
