LS2 "Auto Vs Manual" Big diffrence?
Re: LS2 "Auto Vs Manual" Big diffrence?
Manuals put more power to the ground and have more gears to choose from. They are slightly faster then auto's and get more MPG.
Test drive one of each and decide for yourself.
Its more of a subjective thing then anything. Toeach his own just like most things.
Test a few..have fun and good luck!

This guy is not bracket racing so I dont think consistancy is going to matter much.
And of course the fastest are auto's because a 9 second car is so fast a person cant keep up with the engine well enough to shift gears.
So pretty much everything youmentioned is irelavant.
Everything I said is factual in the above statment that you quoted.
If you want to know wat to buy, drive them both and youll make up your on mind. But I have owned 4 v8 4th gens. 2 autos and 2 six speeds. In all cases the 6 speed was faster and got way way better gas milage.

You made a post that was very one sided and attempted to paint a picture showing the M6 as a clear cut superior choice. I felt compelled to set the record straight and point out some of the A4 advantages that you failed to mention.
Since many people like to eat and drive, many people go to test and tune, many people like to launch from a light and many people like saving a few bucks I see my post as being very relevant.

Darren, agreed about the "fun factor", which is why we don't drive Checker cabs. I'm on my third (and last) new F-body since 1985, the first two were A4. My current SS is an M6, which I love to row, unless in traffic. You can't have it both ways, I guess.

Winning a stop light to stop light race (not that I recommend street racing) is easier to do in a stalled auto. The 10 bolt can and has survived 11 second passes with 1.6 60' times through an auto (I would not recommend trying that with an M6 unless you have a tow truck standing by). A4's are way easier to drive in heavy traffic while drinking coffee and eating an egg McMuffin.

To each his own.
Re: LS2 "Auto Vs Manual" Big diffrence?
I've had my car for 2 years, it's a 6 speed. It's fun, yeah. But this saturday I'm swapping in a th350 with a 4000 stall, tranny brake, manual valve body. After driving an LS1 with a stalled auto, I knew I wanted to ditch my 6 speed. My vote goes to an automatic, but make sure you throw a stall & cooler in it ASAP

the GT "as was the first aim I was looking at" but when I saw the 260hp. I was like hummm? And if it is not a mach or Cobra, the GT alone will get in the 14's by a hair is what I hear.

GT drivers can pull tremendous sixties without breaking the rear end.

W/ fbodys any time you gonna add for instance a heads/cam or fi set up you always need to upgrade the rear.
