LS1 Water Pump R & R?
*drain the coolant from the radiator
*take off air intake assy. (lid to bellow)
*remove serp belt
- might as well replace the ac belt while you're down there
*remove both hoses from wp
*remove wp (3 bolts each side)
- you will have to remove the idler puller to remove the one bolt
*clean mounting surface on block
*remove t-stat/housing from old wp and install on new wp
- make sure to use new o-ring
- OR just replace t-stat/housing
*mount new wp to block and torque bolts to 22ftlbs
*replace idler pulley
*replace serp belt
*replace air intake assy
*refill coolant making sure to get a good bleed on the system
- I've been told that jacking up the front of the car is a good way to do that
*enjoy your new wp
I just replaced mine. It took about an hour and a half taking my sweet old time.
