LS1 on spray?

Alright guys here is my situation, I have researched for a while now and I think I am going to go with the juice rather than try a cam. All I haev done so far is a lid and a few suspension parts. I really don't mind spending the money to make it safe, and qould never think of just throwing a cheap kit on a 25,000 dollar car. I would like to get the cam instead but don't want to deal with a tune and the constant need to change springs. So my question is what would be needed to have a complete 100 shot, I am thinking Dry but all the accessories I am not familar with. I know they make windows with pills for RPM range and wide open throttle, is a bottle warmer needed, and how about a purge kit, does it serve a purpose rather than looking really cool? Any info will be appreciated, I just need to know the best kit and all other parts that will improve on the safety aspect of the spray, THANKS

Your basic items should be an RPM activated window switch, WOT switch (should come with the kit), Fuel pressure safety switch, bottle heater with safety switch and blow-down tube. Also use for NGK TR6's

Cool man , thanks. Don't they make a proggressive controller as well? I think it opens progresssivly through the RPM so it isn't such a shock to the cluthc and engine?

the purge is intended to clear out your nitrous line and get rid of any air in the line before you send a shot into your engine. it is there to make sure you get a pure shot of nitrous without any air if im not mistaken.

another use for it is relieving the pressure on the solenoids when your finished with the nitrous...when you close the bottle, you need to either purge or manually disconnect the line to let the pressure out. if you leave the system pressurized over time, you'll damage the solenoid seals.

Re: LS1 on spray?

Is there anyone local in Kentucky that does a good job on cam installs? My mechanical knowledge is very limited when it comes to the internals of an engine. Also I don't want to change the springs every 10,000 miles. Any suggestions?

I did mine myself . To tell the truth it was cake .
Where are you from ? im in northern ky and i got alot of freinds that are master techs that woulddo it for a few hunded or so .

As far as springs go , I havent had any probs but I cant speak for anyone else . I would think that the only way youd have problems with the springs is if you got a huge cam to where the srpings where at their threshhold with the cam sizes .

I am from Lexington, did you get your tune in KY as well? I would go with a cam if I could get a reasonable setup for around a thousand installed. I don't know it that is possible or not but if you know anyone I could talk to it would be appreciated. I will but putting headers on at the same time also.

Lexington is only an hour away . I got my tune at PCM for less and the guy did a GREAT job. At 47k and up is when the tune shines . anywan , I go tthat doen cheap . But depending on the size of the cam you may not need a tune right off the bat . I could have drove my car without a tune but I was missing my High RPM power band that my cam privides .
I could probably have one of my good friends install your cam and headers for 500 bucks . I can talk to him and see what he says .
I did it with minimal tools and whatnot but he has an air compressor and other things he needs to do the job . Ill try and call him tomarrow if your intersted .
for headers and cam alone your probably looking at ...just for parts..over 1k .
I got my cam , pushrods , springs and headers all for 600 Bucks but I shopped around for a few months taking my time buying the parts . Good luck with it !

Yeah if you would give him a call. How much power are you making with your cam? I would like to be near 400 at the wheels. I beleive that's a realistic goal on stock heads. I am trying to round up parts right now. Did you replace your rockers or leavet the stock ones on? Thanks man

There isnt really a reason for me to change my stock rockers . I like my cam grind and IM not willing to alter it any moer then it is . I am probably pushing somewhere around 380 to the wheels . Give or take a few . My car traps very high so I have to be pushing some kind of power .
I havent done much more to it . I wont be able to make 400 RWHP without buying a LS6 intake .
As far as your car , if your looking to make that much power to the wheels do some research on your cam before You buy it . See who's pulling what with the grinds they are using . that way youll have something you like and where looking for first time around .

we are in Louisville, more or less, just off of I-71 at exit 14
with parts and labor looking at about $950.00(no tuning)
included would be
Custom Cam
Dual Springs good to .650 lift(we use the PP Golds)
Installed

A N2O install would run about the same, depending on the kit used, I prefer NX wet kits

Thats a good price demon ....That would be very hard to beat beings the Cam and srpings come with it .
BTW, you would need titanium retainers as well .
