LS1 Motor Mount Installation
teke184-I finially did the install. I unbolted the upper motor mount on the driver's side and left the lower mount in place. I had to remove the altenator. I jacked up the enginge to remove the upper mount. I swapped in the poly mount and replaced the upper mount. I had to use a prybar to get it to line up, but not that big of a deal. The passenger side was a bit harder. I had to remove the complete mount (upper and lower mount), you won't be able to remove the bolt since the AC compressor is in the way. I had to remove the starter though. I tooked the whole mount out and swapped in the poly mount and re-installed. It's kind of time comsuming, but well worth it. The engine doesn't torque to the right as much and I don't notice any engine vibrations inside the car. You can email me at curt96ws6@hotmail.com if you need any advice on this. I got my poly mounts from Summit Racing for $31 or $39, well worth it.

I swapped out just the drivers side in mine. I wanted to be sure the engine does not lift and hit on the Y pipe.
I wouldn't say it is easy but it is doable. You do have to drill or grind out the rivets in the factory clamshell mount and use the supplied bolts to hold it together.
