Post LS1 mid-length headers

Well, I was just browsing over at http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/ and found that MAC is no longer the only mid-length header option. Bassani has decided to sell a quality set as well. Just some FYI.

Rippers Evil Twin put these on his car a couple of years ago. Very pretty but they're still midlengths.

but if you need the ground clearance of shorties and the power of LT...they are a nice compromise i would think

any one with dyno numbers?

I have them.

I did not have the ground clearance for longtubes since I needed cats as well.

There was minimal gain over lid and catback until I got tuned.

Think the gain for 2000 up with the better cats is min. For '98 & '99 would see some good benefit? Plus they should sound good. Have been think about getting a set of MAC's, used are cheap. Figured they should be good to 450HP.

Thumbs up

MACs are a very good alternative to LTs on lowered cars. I bought my MACs back when the only LT were Grotos and FLPs and both were $1300! I got them used, but new in the box and had no problems with the install. Combined with a LS6 intake, I got 30rwhp through the stock F-body cats welded in place of the MAC cats. Since I've gone heads/cam, I installed coated Hooker LTs, but still reccommend MACs.

Shorties and shorties only. Mids and LTs move the cats which is against CA Smog laws. So Only shorties are legal. Even if you do pass the sniffer test...

They do help but for the cost its negligable. Your stock manifolds flow almost as well as a shorty header.
