LS1 manifold question, interchangable by year 98-02??
LS1 manifold question, interchangable by year 98-02??
Just a quick and easy question!
Will 2000 stock manifolds fit on a 1999 model?
I have some ideas rolling. I just need to know if it is possible to fit some manifolds from a 00 TA on to a 99 TA. This car has no emissions, so EGR placement is not an issue. I figure they would be the same, but I wanted to ask! Or, are all years from 98-02 interchangable?
Hope to find out! Thanks!

I just found out that the pass. side will not work. 98-99 is the same, and 00-02 is the same. The difference is the flange on the y-pipe of the 00+, it won't mate up to the 98-99 style. That is why when and if you buy a y-pipe for these cars, they are: 98-99 and the 00-02 to choose from.
Thanks all!

Actually the manifold breakdown goes like this:
98-99 Have AIR tubes and EGR, tubular design
00 Have revised AIR tubes (rotated ~90 degrees) and EGR, cast iron design
01-02 Have revised AIR tubes (same as 00) and no EGR, cast iron design
That should help you out.

That is correct, but my point is...
But the flange at the y pipe also changes after 99. That is why when you buy a ypipe for a LS1, you have a division of years-98-99 and 00-02. That is why you can't use 00-02 manifolds on a 98-99 model.
Edit: To be specific, it is the pass. side manifold flange that changes. The flange that mates up to the y pipe. This is b/c of removable cats.
