LS1 (and LS6) diagnostic procedures

I don't know how I've managed to own my Z28 for almost five years and I'm only just finding out about this resource.

http://www.gearchatter.com/index10.php

The data appears to be straight from the GM service manuals, and it has unique sections for each model year of LS1 F-body, LS1 GTO, and LS1/LS6 Corvette. It's broken down by DTC. It doesn't have the complete content of the service manuals, but it seems pretty darn useful to me.

I think this should be a sticky in this section. I could sticky it myself, but it's Kraest's forum so I'll let him decide.

Really? gearchatter.com has been posted on here for years in response to people asking about specific codes. I know I've done it.

I actually found it by searching this site. Still, I've seen dozens of posts asking for help with codes that resulted in no mention of this site. It should be a sticky so that everyone can find out about it, and I created this thread with that in mind.

Not Kraest's forum. I know that I'm less vocal than Mike, but Mike and I are co-moderators for this forum and I have been here for many years before the other co-mod left and Mike replaced him.

Re: LS1 (and LS6) diagnostic procedures

Have a place i take my car too in il. American muscle car.Great people. One day the car just started missing like it was running on 6 cyl.Had it towed in and they replaced the plugs, wires 4 coil packs and syn oil change. The owner asked me to take it for a ride with him before i left and 5 mins later the car was running just like it was when i had it towed in.Its a 1999 z28 ls1 5.7 with 25,000 miles.
Could it be possible that the other four went bad also? I already put out 900.00 bucks.Could it be something else doing it? He said there were no codes.

thanks
rick
