depending on the year of the car, you may already have the ls6 and intake. 01-02 all had the ls6 intake.

other than that, i cant think of anything outside the heads and cam. might want to consider a custom cam h/c setup unless you want to say the car has a "ls6" in it.

Yup. Pretty much just heads cam and possibly intake. Some 2001-02 F-bodys received the LS6 block as well, but it isn't a big deal. You could do much better on price and performance with an aftermarket combo...

all that money for 360-370rwhp? talk about a waste.

put in a 224 cam and you'll make that for about $500

step up to a bigger cam and you'll be close to 400rwhp

As stated above, it's not worth the money. For the same cost, you can upgrade to a much more powerful combination.

The LS6 block just has some windowing differences for better bay-to-bay breathing. It's the same displacement and offers no real advantages for a higher-horsepower car. Heck, it's actually a little bit weaker structurally than an LS1 block.

Whatever heads you buy... you'll want fully assembled heads. The stock LS1 valve gear can't handle much more than stock LS1 power. You'll need springs at the very least, but I'd do the complete valvetrain.

The cam only 6 speeds that are 375-400 are seeing 22-25mpg easy.

Thats too much. You see the stock LS6 heads & cam go for about $500 -$700. For what you want to do, just get you some stock LS6 heads, and throw in a sleeper cam. The Stealth II from MTI or maybe the CheatR from Thunder Racing. Better profiles on both of those, but they are still on the a 116 LSA so it will still run pretty silent and keep your mileage up. Also they do well with a little nitrous.

I guess 40-45 rwhp for $1100 isn't a bad deal. I'd do a set of LTs while you have her apart...

How many miles on your car?
There are many extra costs involved in working on a motor.
You'll need: head gaskets, head bolts, pushrods, and maybe other gaskets if they show flaws upon inspection.
You should change: oil pump, lifters, timing chain.

Now with all of this work and parts to put on a set of heads and cam. Why not put in a little better cam and get some more benifit?

with a poor part throttle tune...i'm running a 233 cam and knocking down a solid 25mpg on the highway at 75-80 with the ttops off and windows down.

around town i typically get abou 18mpg...but it's not city traffic, but it is all slow speed stuff

Except for the fact that better numbers can be had for a better price. Check my post above.
