2002 z28 is ticking

I am getting a loud ticking noise once my engine warms up. It sounds like it is coming from either the engine or the exhuast. I do have aftermarket exhuast longtube headers. One guy told me it sounds like a spark plug but i haven't lost any power. I also checked the wires and they look good and there are know burns on them. Just want to know what the ticking noise could be.

Make sure all of the spark plugs are tight and not loose. Also, I would make sure all of the header bolts are tight and all the exhaust connections. It sounds like you may have an exhaust leak.

It's either a header leak or the loud LS1 valvetrain.

Check your header bolts. One may have backed out.

This is on an LT1 motor, but it gives you an idea of what they look like: http://shbox.com/1/diverters.jpg
