LS1 intake manifold fit on 2000 5.3?

My friend has a 2000 Tahoe with the 5.3 and was wondering if the LS1 intake manifold would bolt up to his heads perfectly. I heard before that some LS1 guys were swapping in the truck heads for higher compression err somthin...so I told him it would work most likely but I'm not 100% sure. Any help? Thanks guys...

Yep, the heads from 5.3L and 6.0L truck engines are LSX style heads, as well as the blocks, so the parts are interchangable like parts were between old SBC's. I'm not sure about the 4.8L engines though? I'm sure they're the same too?

I'm pretty sure that the purpose for using the 5.3L heads on LS1's is that they have smaller chambers than LS1 & LS6 heads which will increase the compression ratio.

I think I read one time that the Vortec intake manifold actually out-flows even the LS6 intake, but it's too tall to fit under the hood of the F-bodies!! So if your buddy wants to swap LS1 intake on his 5.3L truck for performance gains, I think I'd check on flow numbers first to make sure he's actually going to benefit.
