Post LS1 Edit different for 98-00 and 01-02?

Is the LS1 Edit specific to the year?
I mean, my friend told me his mechanic couldn't reprogram OBDII on his 2001 SS to have the fans come on early after installing the 160* thermostat.
He's got the LS1 edit for 98-00.
What gives? Shouldn't work on the 01-02?
Thanks.

Goose,

They are grouped like this:

97-98 together (97 vettes were LS1's)

99-00 together

01 On it's own

02 On it's own

Good Luck!
