OK, engine JUST got rebuilt...and at first it was dumping coolant like a ****, overheating, and making a sputtering-strange noise from the rear-passenger side area of the engine.
Mechanic suggests waterpump - so i go to check waterpump, and find that the S.O.B. resued the saem gaskets to remount the pump
...anyhoo, I buy new gaskets, reseal and mount the waterpump, install new thermostat...fire her up, idle for 20 minutes and there are no leaks....take the car out, baby it at first, and then i get on it - strange sputtering sound from the engine again (only when i get on the throttle, hard or light) and after about 15 minutes of driving, car begins to over heat again (we're talking zoom straight to 260)
park the car AS SOON AS it starts to climb in temperature - look under car, no leaks - just AC condensation dripping.
give the car a second, turn on the heater and run the heater at full blast, car temp starts to go down - get on the engine one more time and the temp goes back up. take it home, park it - no leaks, no nothing.
put the car in reverse and powerbrake it to listen to see where the strange sputtering is coming from, and it's the same place: rear passenger side of the engine.
What the hell is going on?!?!?!?

Yeah, it sounds like a head gasket problem (either split or just not aligned right when installed) that's letting water into the engine. Pull the dipstick and see if the oil looks milky, or like it has water in it. Check the rad to see if the water level has gone down too. If it has, but there are no leaks, it's inside the engine, sorry to say
. Also, you can tell when you're checking the oil if the level is way up higher than it should be.
Good luck.............sounds like the engine may have to come apart again though

OK, did this - it didn't take much for the TB coolant line to start pushing collant out...i did it a few times to make sure that it would push more air out...even run the engine while pouring...about 2 cups both times, till it starting coming out - noticed a few bubbles.
Put everything back on, this time when starting the car, the computer was tempermental...engine stumbled a bit after light throttle. put some gas in it, let it sit for a few minutes, restarted it, all good.
on the road, run the engine a little for about 15-20 (typical time it takes for the inevtiable) - i begin to smell coolant coming out of the AC vent (i am running AC at the first/second tick mark) and sure as rain, it begins to overheat...limp it home before it got up to 260 and beyond. looked under the car, only thing dripping is condensation from the AC. I am clueless.
checked the oil, it's synethetic and looked pretty clear and clean to me.
engine was rebuilt due to broekn piston.

check thermostat...just out of nowhere mine started sticking and it would overheat pretty quick unless i had the heater on full blast...you can pull it out and then see if it stops overheating...dont leave it out though if thats fixes it...put in a new one......gl
