LS1 diferences

Hey guys i was curious if someone can tell me the difference between a 99 LS1 from a camaro and an LS1 from a 02 Corvette? I have a 02 longblock but am not sure if i would benefit from doing a swap. thanks for the help

The only major difference is the LS6 intake on the 02 block. There are some other minor things, and imo, I don't think the swap is worth the time or money. Definatly change out the intake manifolds though.

I'm sure some others will help out too.

i would keep the 99 block as it has a bigger cam in it than the new one has. if the new one has the intake put it on the 99. in 01 they put ls6 intake on but a smaller cam. but i am not an expert, i just know that. there are other differences and like jd13 said im sure more people will help answer your question.
i don't think it would be worth it IMO

Thanks for your help, i am happy with my car but i have been running my car with a gtech and cant get lower than a 14.04. I dont understand because i have a cat back exhaust, Air lid, and holly power shot filter, but yet cant get in the 13's. I guess i need to just hit the track instead of using the gtech

That 14.04 doesn't sound right for any LS1. Are you at altitude? How hot is it in Louisiana now(90s and 70%RH?). What's your race weight? I wouldn't trust the G-tech too much. Take it to the track, you'll probably end up getting better traction than on the street.

Oh yeah and I think the exhaust manifolds were redesigned in 2000 (worth 5rwhp).

Maybe it's your clutch???

I don't think the block swap would be worth it unless you happened across a LS6 block, but even then I wouldn't bother unless you planned on throwing in a head/cam package along with it.

yea they were.redesigned
he just has a long block which i don't think comes with exhaust manifolds. that and it is from a vette
:0

and the g-tech thing is definetly bs. i have never heard of any ls1 f-body do that crappy.

Yeah the temp outside was probably high 80's. My race weight i have no clue, but i dont have a spare or the jack in my car, and i took out my back seats to clean the carpet and ran it with them out. Like i said man i have no clue. I appreciate all of your help. I am about to get some headers and change my 2.73's in the rear and take it to the track. Ill let yall know how i do thanks
