LS1 cam sizes

What is the talles lift cam you can install in a ls1 with stock pistons, and valves? or that i known installed in an ls1?

Depends on the duration.. I am running .581 lift with no probs at all.. I think anything over .600 is going to be a tight squeeze.. especially with over 230 degrees of duration.. Many of the bigger cams on the market or soon to be on the market are requiring flycutting of the pistons. However, the limit is somewhere close to as stated above.. If you plan on using a cam this big, please do the clay test..

G5X-2 232/240 .595/.609 112 lsa is about as big as they get before you start flycutting pistons.

Thank you guys, I was planing on the G5x-2 I have not heard much about it. Is it a good all around power cam?
