LS1 boring question

O.k....the block is from a 2000 LS1. Their are some gouges in the cylinder walls that need to be cleaned up and a hone just wont do it. How much can you bore the 2000 LS1 block and still be safe with the sleeve? I need some hard fact, not hearsay, on this subject. All I can seem to find is 50/50 hearsay, so if anyone has done it or KNOWS FOR FACT, what can be done, your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Bill
