I have a 68 camaro and am looking at buying a better engine. I was thinking about a 383 stroker (450HP) for about $4500.
I started to read about the ls1 and would like to know what the benefits are. I am going for a street/strip car (mainly street) application.

How much would an ls1 conversion run?

Theres a guy on here with LS1 67 Camaro, he could probably give you a estimate of how much it would cost to put in. As for benefits, it gets better gas mileage then the LT1 while making more power.
