LS1 Bare Block for $300, Good Price?

I found an LS1 bare block removed from a 2000 Corvette with about 40K miles on it. There are no problems with the block whatsoever. For $300, the engine comes with mains and main bolt set. Is this a good price?

There is one thing that I know nothing about. He said that he made a modification to it for the LS6 valley pan to the block. He said that he had a LS6 valley pan that he would throw in with the block for $30.00. I don't even know what a valley pan is, to tell you the truth.

I am wanting to buy the block and send it to MTI or somewhere to have them resleeve it with Darton's MID sleeve kit (http://www.darton-international.com/kit_sale.htm).

What do you all think?

What?! Nooo... Core charge is only like, $5-600, right?

Unless you are meaening retail from GM or something, but I mean real world prices: eBay, trader, word of mouth, places like this, etc... $1200 for an LS1 would be out of this world.
