Should I then be concerned if a 98 RAM AIR has an LT1?

yes, you should be concerned, If yo see a 98 or above F body with an LT1 it either had an engine swap, or its a 97 or before with the 98 up front end. I belive thats a pretty simple switch, so that could be what it is

It could also be that someone just screwed up and said LT1 instead of LS1?? Not everyone is a "guru" on F-bodies!?

97 for Corvette, 98 for Camaro and Trans Am. But I did once have a Pontiac sales weasel tell me the WS6 was supercharged.

this is very possible, the things I mentioned are assuming you know the difference and have confirmed it is not an LS1

All 98's have LS1's in fact all TA's with the 02 body style have LS1's, GM stopped the LT1 in 97.
